Appearance – A clear amber color but the head was very minimal on both bottles that I poured.

Smell – Mildly hoppy smell.

Taste – It has a floral hoppyness to it with some slightly sweet malts.  I would say caramel tasting with them.

I love the Flying Dog names and label designs.  They are just odd to say the least.  Plus an endorsement from the late Hunter S. Thompson doesn’t hurt either.  This was a very smooth IPA, not bitter in the slightest.  While I didn’t see much that made it one of the best IPAs it is a very solid one as there really wasn’t anything wrong with it other than I would say the lack of a head.  I would definitely have this one again.
