Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse

25 Jul

Name - Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse
Country - Germany
Type - Hefeweizen (Wheat)

Appearance - Hazy light orange color with a large 2 finger white head.

Smell - Sweet smell of citrus and even a hint of banana.

Taste - Very full and tastes almost exactly how it smells.

My friend told me to try this when I went to the German bar, Little Munich, so I bit. I didn’t have any idea it was a wheat beer when I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised. I had it from draft and actually had two glasses because it was so good. I would definitely have this one again

Overall Grade – B

Franziskaner is the gold standard for Hefe-Weissen, no doubt. This is one of the most consistant beers I’ve ever had, no matter where I drink this, it always taste the same. I highly recommend this beer if you w weissen lover or want to try one for the first time. A true German weissen.

It is definitely a standard. Many people use it as a comparison with other hefes.
