After our trip to Little Munich on Thursday night I felt compelled to write a review of the actual place.
Name: Little Munich
Location: Lake Worth, FL
Atmosphere: Upon walking into the place it just has that authentic feel to it. Wide open with tables through out and a large L shaped bar on the right along the wall. Lots of German swag including flags and hand forged weaponry on the walls with your traditional beer and liquor ads.
Selection: The selection of beer was very good with 10 imports on draft and 3 domestics. They also have a large selection of bottle beers from Europe as well. We sampled quite a variety predominantly from Germany and Belgium.
Service: While it was a slow night our bartender, Chris, was extremely good and very helpful. He was extremely knowledgeable about their selection of beer and offered his input and recommendations based on our taste. He also took the time to get to know us more personally and actually show that he cared about our patronage. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Peter, and he too offered his views on beers that he thought we would enjoy. He then brought us out shirts to give to us in thanks for our business. He provided both Chriser and myself with Bitburger t-shirts. He gave our friend Autumn a Jager girl’s tee. He then gave me a Killepitsch t-shirt. He then proceeded to give us free shots of Killespitsch in order to try it. It is a sweeter and stronger tasting version of Jager. Needless to say the service was amazing.
Food: While I wasn’t to hungry I did look at the menu and noticed all the traditional German fare that you would expect from such an establishment. Chriser went ahead and tried the Chicken Shnitzel with German Potato Salad. While a little reluctant he ended up really enjoying it. They also have you typical American sandwiches and burgers if German food isn’t your taste.
Price: I would say that is moderate to slightly above moderate. The German dinners range around $15 while all the sandwiches are under $10. Drinks were priced about what you would expect for a bar like this and most beers being imports.
Overall: We went in not really knowing what to expect and were completely blown away. We all had a great time and the amazing service helped it even more. I will definitely be going back here in the future and would highly recommend it if you are in the downtown Lake Worth area. They have a website at http://www.littlemunich.com/ it hasn’t been updated in awhile but it has their menu, beer list and location if you want to look it over. A great place with great times.
