Appearance – Pours an amber to copperish color with a very minimal head that went away quickly.

Smell – Sweet smells of caramel and apple.

Taste – Taste had an ever so slight roasted flavor to it with hints of apple as well.  Nice hoppy background to it.  Different taste for a lager but in a good way.

I haven’t reviewed a lager in some time so I felt it was needed and thought that Flying Dog was a well respected brewery that I should give their lager a try.  This isn’t your typical lager but Flying Dog seems to pride themselves on not being your typical brewery.  It has a nice sweet taste to it at first with a hoppyness right there from the middle to end.  You aren’t going to get this type of flavor in most lagers.  A good brew overall.
