Appearance - A clear purple-reddish beer. When poured from a bottle produces a thick pink foam. I have had this beer on tap and no head was visible.
Smell -Very berry and sweet. The smell is a combination of honey, raspberry, and blackberry.
Taste -This is one of my most favorite beers. I have been enjoying it for a long time, but have never reviewed it before. It has a very sweet light berry flavor and is not for everyone. It is not very strong, but is great in any occasion. Has a perfect amount of carbonation. Would recommend that everyone try this beer once.
I will be review the rest of the Leinenkugel family soon. They have just released their own version of Octoberfest.
Overall Grade- A+
I really liked their Sunset Wheat, but when I tried this beer it didn’t push any buttons for me. Thought it was a bit medicinal tasting – too fruity or something. I will try their Octoberfest if I see it.
Yeah, most others don’tcare for it. Their Sunset Wheat is amazing. Let me know if try the octoberfest before me.
I did try the Oktoberfest recently and was somewhat disappointed by it. Certainly better then this Berry Weiss brew, but nowhere near the enjoyment I got from the Sunset Wheat.
Try mixing the Berry and Honey Weiss together. It’s the perfect summer beer.
