Calling all Philly craft beer lovers! I will be in my birth state of Pennsylvania from June 3rd until June 13th for the purposes of visiting family and friends and as well as attending the many great events of Philly Beer Week 2010. Here is where I need your help. I will definitely be attending the Opening Tap Ceremony but want to know what other events through out the week you think I should attend. I’ll be splitting time with family in Bucks and Montgomery counties as well as being in the far Northeast of Philly itself. So post me some recommendations and maybe where you might be going and we can share some brews together.

Name – Oak Aged Unearthly
Country – United States
Type – American Double IPA
Appearance – Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a nice sized white head that sticks around for a bit.
Smell – Earthy hops along with a slight sweet bubble gum like taste.
Taste – Beautiful combination of all the earthy, citrusy and piney hops with a rich malt backing and sweet bubble gum/candi sugar flavor. There is a definite oak presence. It’s not in your face but you can pick it up and it adds something nice to this beer.
As you may know I was a big fan of the normal Unearthly and was looking so forward to the Oak Aged version of it. I must say that I was not let down at all. It is just like regular Unearthly but has that very nice chewy oak flavor in there that just adds something extra to an already complex and well rounded DIPA. This one definitely shoots up to probably my top 3 favorite DIPAs of all time.
Overall Grade – A
