Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA

Name – Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA
Country – United States
Type – American Double IPA

Appearance – Poured a clear copper/amber color with a nice sized white head.

Smell – Smells of hops, slight caramel malts and barley.

Taste – Big hoppy taste with a nice sweet malt flavor of caramel to balance it out.  Slight alcohol taste to it.

After posting the article about the new IPA that will be released by Dogfish Head this spring it made me realize I hadn’t reviewed the 90 Minute IPA on the site despite having it before.  This is my favorite of the 3 popular IPAs from DFH.  It is a well balanced brew with just the right amount of hops and malts to not make one over baring.

Overall Grade – A

We reviewed this not too long ago, too. It’s actually a good example of an IPA having malt that stands up to the hoppiness. Nate and I both like it and I think that it is terrific on tap. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing their 75 in IPA before too long. I keep half-joking that the 105 min IPA will be next. We’ll see if this turns out to be prophetic.

I know I won’t get to see the 75 minute probably unless I take a trip up north. Usually I am in Philly in the summer but decided to take my trip elsewhere this year.
