Appearance – Poured a very dark brown, almost black color.  A very nice tan head.

Smell – A quite roasted malts smell.

Taste – Slightly sweet malts with a hint of chocolate and roasted notes.

This was my first experience with a product from Louisiana’s Abita.  I have seen it numerous times in the store and felt it was time to give it a try.  I was pleasantly surprised overall with it and enjoyed it a good deal.  Nothing over powering and nothing lacking.  A solid brew.
