Collaboration Not Litigation Ale

Name – Collaboration Not Litigation Ale
Country – United States
Type – Belgian Strong Dark

Appearance – Poured a hazy rusty red color with a nice sized head that laced the glass a great deal.

Smell – Very sweet malt smells picking up apples, raisins, caramel and grapes.

Taste – Pretty right on with the smell.  Mostly the same sweet flavors and really no noticeable hop taste.

This was Batch #2 and bottle in February 2008 from Avery and Russian River for this collaborative brew.  Very complex smell and taste with a lot going on.  Probably the fact that it is already over a year old the hops have just kind of died off in the beer.

Overall Grade – B+

I think that’s about what I rated it too. Overall a pretty good beer. I forgot to let you know that my bottle was also Feb. 2008. I’d like to get another and let it cellar for a few years.

I’m thinking about doing the same but am trying to figure out where to do the cellaring in my house. Hey there’s an idea for an article that you or Mike could write. Best ways of making your own cellar. It would greatly help guys like me that don’t have a basement.
