Name – Saison Dupont
Country – Belgium
Type – Saison
Appearance – Poured a quite cloudy golden color with a big bubbly head that left a good amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell – Very distinguishable scent of yeast upfront with a slight fruit background.
Taste – Tastes of apples and yeast upfront and finished with a dry, smooth finish. Pretty much just like the bottle describes.
I first noticed this over at my fellow beer bloggers Mike and Nate’s site Thank Heaven for Beer. The review of that intrigued me so much that I had to pick up a bottle of my own. This is a wonderfully made beer that was a great to drink while watching Lost. This will be perfect one for the upcoming summer months.
Overall Grade – A

Thanks for giving us props on this. It’s almost more important that you were able to try this very good beer. I’m glad that our suggestion was not a flop for you. We’re always looking for new stuff, so we all borrow from each other.

April 9, 2009 at 2:13 pmOK, two thumbs up from two different Mikes! That’s almost as good as Homer Simpson giving a 10 thumbs up rating!
Anyway, saw this last night but passed it up (focusing on English Ales) but I’ll definitely try it as a summer beer. Sounds like a slam-dunk of beer goodness!
April 9, 2009 at 10:32 pmIt will definitely go well during the hot, sticky summer months that will be coming up.

April 10, 2009 at 10:00 amNo problem Nate. That sucks that you got a bad bottle but hopefully you will be able to get a good one in the future.
April 10, 2009 at 11:02 amJust had my first ever bottle. Wow! Paid $8.99 for 750ml and it was worth every penny. Wish I could translate what my palette was experiencing 🙂
