As always I like to give a heads up about the upcoming local beer events and this one is a biggie. For the third year running the country’s best craft brewing companies will arrive at the Abacoa Town Center in Jupiter, FL. The cost of the event is $22.50 in advance if you purchase from their website. It doesn’t say a day of cost but I expect between $25 and $30.
There will also be a lot of other things to do at the festival such as watch some live music or partake in a silent disco. Yes it is exactly how it sounds. You disco dance to no music. Also there will be a best dressed monk contents. Jupiter’s own Inlet Brewing will be sponsoring the contest with a $300 first prize. The monk idea comes from Inlet’s flag ship beer Monk in the Trunk.
There will also be food to eat along with all the restaraunts of Abacoa. This will be a fun time indeed and it all starts this Saturday at 2 pm and lasts until 7 pm. Visit http://www.jupitercraftbrewersfestival.com/index2.html for more information and to purchase your tickets.

I have to know Mike, did you go to the silent disco?
Apparently they are big here also, and everyone just has iPods with selections dj’s have made and they dance to whatever is playing into their heads. I’ve never actually been!
It seems kind of sad, but then maybe I’m just old?
February 20, 2009 at 7:34 amI did not Ally for two reasons. One is I’m definitely not a dancer, drunk or sober haha. Second is I didn’t even get into the event. Read my rant about it and you will see why. I’m still upset about that.
