You know me.  I love to talk about new breweries entering the South Florida market.  So today is no different as I mention that Laughing Dog is now available down here.  The brewery hails from Idaho (the home of my buddy Don from Beer & Whiskey Bros) and there are not many breweries from that state.  Also I don’t believe they have any beers with potatoes in it, yet.

I have had the chance to try some of their beers and they are pretty good.  I’m looking forward to trying some of the line that has been brought down that I have yet to have.  These beers are now readily available at your local Total Wine and More in South Florida.

Here is a run down of those brews available.

Laughing Dog AlphaDog Imperial IPA
American Double / Imperial IPA-  8.7% ABV. Pours a hazy golden orange with big white head. Floral and piney hops hit the nose, with hints of grapefruit and honey maltiness. A bitter-sweet hoppiness coats the mouth. The alcohol warms you as you drink it. This is a big IPA! {Hoppy, Floral, Citrusy, Medium-bodied}

Laughing Dog Devil Dog
American Double / Imperial IPA-  10% ABV. Pours an orange-copper color. Aromas of citrus and spicy hops along with sweet malts. Caramel and honey malt flavors blend with hop bitterness and citrus essences and spices. Warming alcohol. Long finish. A flavorful beer to savor. {Balanced, Toasted, Spicy, Medium-bodied}

Laughing Dog DogZilla Black IPA
American Strong Ale-  6.9% ABV. Pours a dark brown with a big, lacy tan head. Grapefruit hops and some roasty malts in the aroma. Burnt dark malts on the palate along with sharp citrus hops. Lingering bitterness. An IPA?…Yet it’s brown in color. Unique. Drink it and decide. {Hoppy, Citrusy, Piney, Roasted, Medium-bodied}

Laughing Dog CSB
Extra Special / Strong Bitter (ESB)-  Pours a deep copper/burnt orange color. Aromas are a fusion of caramel, roastiness and earthy hops bitterness. Toasted biscuit and caramel-sweet flavors, with spicy hops balancing the complex malts. Compare to an English IPA. {Complex, Bready, Bitter-Sweet, Medium-bodied}
