Name – Sierra Nevada Estate Brewers Harvest Ale
Country – United States
Type – American IPA
Appearance – Pours a pretty clear dark red color with a good sized slightly off white head. It leaves a good amount of lacing on the glass.
Smell – Floral and earthy hops are the predominant smells with some pine notes and grains.
Taste – Dry earthy bitterness from the hops up front. There is some spices and a slight roasted malt flavor at the end.
Estate is made with hops and barely on Sierra Nevada’s grounds and is one of few breweries in the US to do this. I thought it was a good IPA but nothing really blew me away about it. I still prefer the Harvest Wet Hop and Celebration ales more for Sierra Nevada IPAs.
Overall Grade – B-

October 26, 2009 at 3:09 pmI wasn’t sure what time of the year they usually start bringing out the Wet Hop Harvest so I am happy that should be here soon. Batch that with Life & Limb and Celebration and some highly anticipated SN stuff coming up soon.
