Appearance – Poured quite a dark red color with off white almost light sand color to the head.  The head dissipated very quickly.

Smell – Smells of caramel and molasses hit the nose.

Taste – Hit with a sweet malt flavor right up front with tastes of cherry, caramel and raisins.  Thick in body with a sweet after taste.

I picked this having never reviewed a beer from Terrapin before.  I also read Hoppy on the label and figure it would be that but I really didn’t find it hoppy.  It had lots of sweet notes to it.  While it was good it just wasn’t what I was expecting from the name.  I would probably have this again and look forward to try other Terrapin brews in the future.
