Samuel Adams Imperial White

Name – Samuel Adams Imperial White
Country – United States
Type – Witbier

Appearance – Poured a hazy amber color with a small white head that disappeared quickly.

Smell – Small malt smells with hints of yeast and banana.

Taste – Very much with an alcohol bite to it. Some yeasty taste to it but can’t get past the malty alcohol burn.

I’ve been wanting to try this one since the announcement of them but was left really disappointed. I guess with the word imperial in the name I should have expected the alcohol taste to it but it just caught me off guard. While I do like some beers like that I just don’t expect it from a white ale.

Overall Grade – D

Interesting review. It sounds like something I’d avoid as well for the same reasons you didn’t like it.

I know you like white ales but I wouldn’t really recommend this one to you Scott. I know you like the refreshing quality of them and whether it would be good after mowing the lawn and I just don’t think this one is.
