St. Bernardus Pater 6

10 May

Name – St. Bernardus Pater 6
Country – Belgium
Type – Dubbel

Appearance – Pours a nice brown color with slight red highlights and bubbly off white head that stuck around awhile.

Smell – Very complex nose here.  Raisins, grapes, sweet caramel, dark fruits.

Taste – Pretty much dead on with the smell.

This a very beautifully made beer.  Very good appearance, smell and taste.  There isn’t really whole lot more I can say but a really good beer that I highly recommend.

Overall Grade – A

I had this one not too long ago and thought it was great. I thought it had a woody/earthy flavor. Is that a St. Bernardus goblet too?

Yes it is Nate, I got it with a four pack of St. Bernardus.

I thought so. I almost bought that same four pack a few weeks ago but just picked up a single bottle. I think I’m going to head back and pick it up. It’s a nice looking glass. Goblets like that are my favorite. They really open up the flavor of the beer.

Nate mentioned this one to me so I thought I’d come check it out. It sounds like a great beer. Is this considered an Abbey ale?

They make really good products. I’m not exactly sure on the terminology but I would assume that it is considered an Abbey Ale.
