Name – Lagunitas Maximus
Country – United States
Type – American Double IPA
Appearance – Pours a clear amber color with a good sized white head that laced the glass a little bit.
Smell – A very faint hop smell to it.
Taste – Earthy hops with a slight malt backing. Didn’t really have a punch like a double IPA normally would.
This one didn’t really have characteristics of a double IPA to me. It wasn’t big on hops or malts and the scent was just barely there. Also at 7.5% ABV I tend to see most DIPAs around the 10% area. This just came across as a decent IPA to me.
Overall Grade – C-
