Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine Style Ale 2009
24 Mar
Name - Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine Style Ale 2009
Country - United States
Type - Barleywine
Appearance - Pours a murky copper/amber color with a big, slightly tan head. The lacing on the glass was good.
Smell - Big earthy hops and barley hit the nose.
Taste - Tastes included hops of course with barley. There was a slight sweet malt flavor with a hint of caramel.
My second barley wine in a week’s time and this one is Stone’s limited release for 2009. I found this right up there with Bigfoot that I had last week but with less of an alcohol burn in the taste and smell. Which is a good thing to me.
Overall Grade – B+
