South Florida Beer Week is Coming

10 Jan

It’s been announced for a few weeks now but I wanted to wait until things started filling out before mentioning it.  South Florida Beer Week is happening January 23rd – 29th.  And it is already packed full of events to celebrate craft beer all over South Florida.  And they all culminate with the 6th Annual Jupiter Craft Brewers Festival.

You will be seeing events all during the week featuring Florida staples Cigar City, Tequesta, Funky Buddha, Holy Mackerel, Inlet, Native and much more.  Plus a number of special events from other national brewers like Dogfish Head.

A website has been created that will have all the events listed on there.  So be sure to keep checking back at that for more beer events as they come up.

Special Keg Releases Thursday at Coffee District

6 Dec

A lot of times there is a theme to a beer event at Coffee District.  But with the madness of the holiday season Chung at Coffee District has decided to do an event that is just insanity.  He has 3 very special kegs to tap and wants to do them all at once.  He’s like a little kid that got some money and it’s just burning a hole in his pocket to buy that special toy.

First up is a very special keg of BFM Abbaye de St Bon Chien.  This Swiss sour ale is the only keg of it’s kind in South Florida.  So if you love the pucker of sour beers this is a can’t miss.

Next is a keg of Dogfish Head’s Immort Ale.  The strong ale brewed with maple syrup is here just in time for those cold winter nights of 70 degrees here in Florida.

Last but not least is a keg of Terrapin’s Wake n Bake.  But it doesn’t just stop there.  They will be doing beer floats of WnB with Oreo Cookie ice cream for those with a sweet tooth.  Or if you need even more coffee in your beer they will be doing home made Depth Charges with a shot of espresso added to your beer.

So there should really be something there for everyone this Thursday night.  Things kick off at 7 pm.  I’ll see you there with a St. Bon Chien in my hand.
