Legbiter

2 Jun

Name – Legbiter
Country – Northern Ireland
Type – English Pale Ale

Appearance – Poured a very clear red color with a big frothy white head.

Smell – Not a whole lot going on in the smell.  You can pick up some faint scents of grain and sweet malts.

Taste – Sweet toffee like malts along with a breadiness.  There is a bit of hops present that give it a slight bittering on the back.

I was actually contacted a bit ago by the brewery of this beer, Strangford Lough, who asked if I would try a couple of their beers.  Not one to turn down free beer (and adhering to legal obligations of blogger disclosure) I graciously accepted.  A few days later I had the bottles.  This is the first one I tried of the two.  It has good English style characteristics to it but could use a tiny bit more hops I feel in the taste.  Other than that this is a good sessionable pale ale.

Overall Grade – B-
