/> <strong>Type</strong> – American Pale Wheat Ale</p><p><strong>Appearance</strong> – Pours a very hazy straw yellow color.  You see plenty of yeast floating around in it.  The head is pretty much non-existent.</p><p><strong>Smell</strong> – Big, bold citrus hops is pretty much all I get.</p><p><strong>Taste</strong> – Yeasty and malty with a bit of the hops coming back at the very end.</p><p>At first smell this comes across as an IPA but the bottle says it&#8217;s a Wheat Ale.  The bottle also says &#8220;It&#8217;s Not Normal&#8221; and I think that&#8217;s a fair assumption as well.  This is not your typical wheat beer but it&#8217;s not bad at all.  This is the first Three Floyds brew I&#8217;ve been able to review and what a way to be really introduced to them.</p><p>Don&#8217;t forget that I reviewed this at Dos Beerigos as well on their scale and it can be read <a

/> <strong>Type</strong> – American Pale Wheat Ale</p><p><strong>Appearance</strong> – Pours a pretty clear golden, almost orange, color with a very thin bubbly white head that was gone pretty quickly.</p><p><strong>Smell</strong> – Really tough to pick up the scents.  There is a slight floral presence and very faint sweet fruit smell but didn&#8217;t remind me of passion fruit.</p><p><strong>Taste</strong> – Slight bit of a fruit taste up front.  I can pick up some passion fruit in there and almost a slight raspberry taste as well as it was a little tart.  Tastes of yeast and wheat in there as expected and a slight spice to it.</p><p>My friend Ben asked that I review this as he has become a big fan of it.  I can definitely see that this is a good summer beer.  It is refreshing and light in body.  It reminds me a little bit of <a
href="http://www.mikelovesbeer.com/archives/2009/05/05/samuel-adams-blackberry-witbier/" target="_self">Sam Adams Blackberry Witbier</a>.  Not the best wheat I&#8217;ve had but definitely not a bad choice for these hot, humid nights.</p><p><strong>Overall Grade</strong> – C+</p> <a

href="http://www.mikelovesbeer.com/archives/2009/06/24/smuttynose-summer-weizen/" target="_self">Smuttynose Summer Weizen</a>.</p><p>This was a new one on the shelves of my local store so I figured I would give it a try.  I like a good wheat beer during the summer, especially since it&#8217;s getting so hot down here in Florida lately.  Put these Pale Wheats throw me off.  They tend to have a big floral presence.  It&#8217;s not a complete turn off but takes me back to unpleasant days of being a little kid and trying to eat a flower petal or dandelion .  If you like traditional wheats by all means give it a try but it is not the traditional wheat.  Rogue dare to be different and they are with this one.</p><p><strong>Overall Grade</strong> – C+</p> <a
