10 Commandments
6 May
Name – 10 Commandments
Country – United States
Type – Belgian Strong Dark
Appearance – Poured a very dark brown color with a nice sized tan head.
Smell – Sweet dark fruits, raisin is very apparent. Slightly roasted smell and a Belgian yeast characteristic.
Taste – More raisin and other sweet dark fruits come out along with a hint of chocolate. There is some cherry, honey and roasted malts that I pick up in there as well with the yeast character.
I first had this beer on my last trip to Pennsylvania and fell in love with it. So when I made a mail order and saw they still had some of this wonderful winter treat I had to get it. It is just as good as I remember and makes me curse that Lost Abbey isn’t available in Florida. I would be stocking up on this for years to come. Absolutely brilliant brew.
Overall Grade – A

Isn’t this the Lost Abbey made with Rosemary? Were you able to pick up any of that herb quality? I had one that was two yrs old and it had all faded out, wondering if it was more prominent in a newer bottle.
The bottle says rosemary was used in it but I really didn’t pick any up. More dark fruit and sweetness over anything.
It is more prominent in a new bottle. Herbs are notorious for receding over a short time. I have a series of Lost Abbey reviews that I’m currently writing but I’ll put them up before too long.
