Terrapin Maggie’s Farmhouse Ale
5 Jan
Name – Terrapin Maggie’s Farmhouse Ale
Country – United States
Type – Saison
Appearance – Pours a cloudy and bubbly golden, straw yellow color. A bubbly white head disappears rather quickly.
Smell – Pretty standard yeasty, cloves and bit of banana.
Taste – Again it seemed pretty standard. You had your yeasty taste with cloves and other spices. Bananas can be picked up a bit too.
We just recently started getting Terrapin distributed again in our area. Believe it or not but the counties above and below us got them but we weren’t for almost a year. Maggie’s is part of their Side Project Series of one off brews. There was only one bottle left in the store when I saw it so I went for it. It is pretty standard in the way of saisons. Nothing outstanding jumps out but it isn’t dull either. Just right in the middle. But I am looking forward to trying the next in the line of the Side Project series, The Dark Side Belgian Style Imperial Stout.
Overall Grade – C

Happy New Years Mike!
Thanks for the review on this one, I was between this and a few other beers myself and went with the others. I would HIGHLY recommend the Gamma Ray by Terrapin (review coming soon…..hehehehe). Glad to have Terrapin back down here, but more excited about Flying Dog……and I have heard rumors that SweetWater is going to begin making their way down the state in the next few mths…..we might have to take trips to Tampa/Orlando to start, but ive heard its worth the drive…
Happy New Years to you too Phil. I do intend on trying Gamma Ray sometime soon.
From what I heard SweetWater is going to be in the central Florida areas soon. So as far south as St. Lucie probably. I really wish I could have tried the Ron Burgundy Ale they did but it was a one off.
