Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout

9 Nov

Name – Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout
Country – United States
Type – Russian Imperial Stout

Appearance – Pours a completely opaque black color with a big brown head on top.  It does leave a good amount of lacing on the glass.

Smell – Chocolate, roasted malts and a slight bit of hops come to the nose.

Taste – A bittersweet chocolate taste up front that is followed with roasted malts and a little coffee flavor.  There is a little bit of a hop and alcohol bite at the very end.

The distributor for Brooklyn in our neck of the woods doesn’t really bring us a big selection of Brooklyn brews so seeing this one I had to jump on it knowing it wouldn’t be around for long.  Nice full flavored beer that masks the 10.6% ABV pretty nicely.  This would make a very good after dinner drink that can serve as a desert of it’s own.

Overall Grade – B+

I love this beer. Simply terrific. I’ve been trying to get a little Black Ops to try but haven’t been able to.

I so wish I could get some of that too. But I would have to travel to be able to.
