Anchor Liberty Ale
2 Oct
Name – Anchor Liberty Ale
Country – United States
Type – American Pale Ale
Appearance – Poured a slightly hazy bright orange color with a nice white head.
Smell – Very distinct smell. It’s a sweet hoppy aroma that is citrus like but also a bit floral.
Taste – Sweet hop taste. There is citrus there but I really pick up this sugary taste to it. Kind of like bubblegum. Very different from any other beers I’ve had thus far.
I really enjoy Anchor. They make good straight forward beers and then this one comes in a little different from the norm. A sweet candy like taste makes it different from most PAs I have had before. Very enjoyable and I’m very happy I decided to actually go for a sixer on this.
Overall Grade – B

Nice. I had this beer back in July and I thought it was pretty good too. It’s still a little too hoppy for me to go out and get it again – but thats just me.
I agree with mike and scott. I love this beer. IT is a great go to beer, and a great session beer. There is def. a sweet candy like flavor. I would like to know what yeast strain they use to give that bubble gum/cotton candy flavor.
Also. I know this is pure superficiality, but I LOVE anchor steam bottles. Cool shape. I save them all for home brew.
Ah cotton candy! I sat there thinking to myself “I know what this taste is and can’t think of what it is.” Thank you Nate!
