Midas Touch

Name – Midas Touch
Country – United States
Type – Spiced Beer

Appearance – Poured a orangish amber color that was very bubbly.  There really wasn’t much head on the first bottle I had but the second gave a small little one but was gone in a jiff.

Smell – Very sweet and a little heavy on the alcohol in the smell.  I pick up grapes that are similar to a white wine and some other spices.

Taste – Sweet indeed.  The white grapes along with a sweet honey taste.  Alcohol can definitely be tasted but it’s not too much to make it stand out over the other flavors.

This was a very different beer than I have ever really had.  I’ve had beers with a grape taste in them before but not this white grape flavor.  It was very enjoyable and a great sipping beer while I watched Beer Wars on DVD.  Another great brew from the folks at Dog Fish Head.

Overall Grade – A

I have not had it. Never seen it in our store but if I do I will definitely pick it up. I always try to get their seasonal stuff when they come out.

Midas touch is what I think DFH has. Once again, I’m on record as saying that this is the most unique brewery in the US. They’re one of my favorites.

Nice review Mike. I’ll have to start trying more of their beers – that sounds like a really nice brew.

I had a bottle this past weekend. Delicious. I echo everyone’s enthusiasm for DFH. And Sam Caligione is just cool.
