Name – Avery Anniversary Ale – Sixteen
Country – United States
Type – Saison
Appearance – Pours a slightly hazy straw gold color. Small bubbly white head that was gone pretty quick.
Smell – Very floral smell to it. Not like floral hops but just a presents of a smell like flowers. I’m not flower expert so which kind I’m really not sure. There is a little bit of a honey smell in there as well.
Taste – Starts sweet with some citrus and honey notes. Followed by a dry floral taste and then ends with some sweetness again. I didn’t really pick up any peaches as mentioned on the bottle.
When Avery announced this as their anniversary ale I was pretty excited to try it. I was a good saison. A little different from most I’ve tried with the floral tastes. Those did throw me off a bit but not enough to make it not enjoyable. Definitely worth picking up just because it is a one time brew and fits the season.
Overall Grade – B-
