Name – Captain Sig’s Deadliest/Northwestern Ale
Country – United States
Type – American Red Ale
Appearance – Pours a brilliant ruby red color with nice sized slightly tan head. The lacing left on the glass was amazing.
Smell – Big citrusy hop smell with some caramel malt backing to it.
Taste – Nice earthy hop taste up front with a caramel like malt taste in there. Finishes with a great citrus hop taste.
I wrote an entry awhile back when this brew was first announced but never thought I would get my hands on it. I guess Rogue started a wider distribution of it and also went and renamed it. Originally called Deadliest Ale it has changed to Northwestern Ale. I like the Deadliest Ale name more but the beer was still extremely good. Overall it is a great beer. Also an awesome bottle for any collectors out there.
Overall Grade – A

I am assuming this is named after the Captain on Deadliest Catch???
If so, I wonder if that Capt. Sig gets a royalty cut?
