Name – Saison Dupont
Country – United States
Type – American IPA
Appearance – Poured a nice amber color with a good sized head.
Smell – Smells included sweet malts, caramel, grapefruit and earthy hops.
Taste – Nice hoppy flavor with a slight grapefruit and orange taste in there. Backed with a nice sweet malt flavor to round it out.
This is a pretty good all around IPA. Pretty dead on to what I think an IPA should be all about. If you like IPAs I would highly recommend Jockamo from Abita.
Overall Grade – A

OK, so would you suggest this IPA to someone (me) who isn’t a big IPA fan but would like to still give it a shot? I just think most IPAs are over the top. Is there no hope?
April 11, 2009 at 6:53 pmIf you want a good, not over the top IPA I would highly recommend Two Hearted Ale from Bell’s. I think it is a perfect example of what an IPA should be. I think they should carry Bell’s up there in Jersey.
