Review of the Coffee District
17 Feb
This past Saturday Danno and I took a trip to Delray Beach to visit the Coffee District. This is a small independent coffee shop that also has a little bar with a not so little selection of craft brew and imported beer.
The store itself is a very clean and modern style that you would expect from a coffee shop. Indoor and outdoor seating with magazines and newspapers for the customers to read. The bartender and owner, Chung Seo, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the brews. He offered his thoughts and recommendations for if you like a particular style.
The beer selection is amazing. While most of the selection is in bottle and laid out very nicely in a menu there is four selections on tap as well. We were very lucky as tonight they tapped one of only two kegs of Dogfish Head Red and White right as we got there. Of course we had a couple glasses of that and it was as you would expect from Dogfish Head.
There was a gentleman playing acoustic guitar and singing comedy songs almost all night and it was quite enjoyable with the atomosphere. My only problem with the place, and it is a very small one, is how bright it is in the store. If the lights could be brought down a little bit I would be 100% satisfied instead of 99%. But as I said that is a minor thing.
Overall the Coffee District was a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend it to any beer lovers in South Florida that want a nice, relaxing environment to have good brews.
