How is it that a brewery can show their support for the presidential candidate of their choices?  Why simple, make a new beer and name it after them.  Denver, Colorado brewery Wynkoop Brewing did exactly that when they released their new German style maibock lager entitled Obamanator.  This was also quite a good decision on timing as well because of the Democratic National Convention being in town last week.

But don’t let the name fool you into thinking this is just a novelty beer.  Apparently the Obamanator is the real deal when it comes to maibock lagers.  I don’t know how long Wynkoop plans on brewing this and if it will only be a one time deal, seasonal or a year round thing.  I personally would like to try it but have no idea  if they even plan on distributing it nation wide.  But if you are in the Denver area you should check it out and if you want to review it I will post it on here for you.
