I’m Mike.  I’m originally from Bensalem, PA (just outside of Philadelphia) and now live in Boynton Beach, FL.  I work in tech support for a web hosting company, own a house, love my Philly sports teams and think I live a pretty good life.  Well my life got even better when a few years back my cousin in PA took me to Isaac Newton’s in Newtown, PA.  He had me try Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout and I loved it.  I didn’t know there were great beers out there.  All I knew was what commercials were put in front of me.

I came back to Florida but had no idea where to find good beer.  Luckily a Total Wine and More opened up close to my house where I just went up and down the aisle picking up interesting sounding beers.  Some I liked, some I didn’t and now some of those that I didn’t I now like.

I started reading BeerAdvocate and RateBeer and started finding places that had good beer around here.  Then from the recommendation of a co-worker I started a beer blog in June of 2008.  I barely knew anything about beer except that I wanted to learn more and that I did.

Now I have developed a little bit of a following and I have met some absolutely awesome people in the craft beer community from other bloggers, people that work at the bars and stores, people the work for the distributors to even people who work for the brewers.  And there is one thing we all have in common, we love beer.  So I am here to show you how much I love beer and to celebrate it with all those that do.  And hopefully I can open some eyes to craft beer in the meantime.

Beer Cellar

Here’s a list of the things I currently have in my beer “cellar.”  I say “cellar” because in Florida it’s not really possible to have one of those.  It pretty much refers to my main fridge and my mini fridge.

Hi! I hope you can help! I grew up 45 min from the leinenkugals brewery in Wisconsin! You can find some of their flavors here in SoFlo but I can’t find my favorite; berryweiss! Can you help? Total Wine used to carry it but haven’t seen it in ages! I look forward to it twice a year when I travel home! Thanks!
